There are two batsh. They all use 100% natural hot spring water from two different sources.
Ebisuya has the oldest original hot spring in Shiobara Onsen. They have a hot spring known to be good for your stomach and intestines. It is named as “Kajiwara spring”. They also have one called “Kobo spring”. It is the only geyser in Shiobara.
They have a very classic looking hallway. Yo will go down the stairs to get to the baths.
The women only indoor bath
They have separate dressing rooms for men and women.
However, you have to walk through the women’s dressing room to go to the Konyoku bath.
There is a drinking fountain in the back. The spring water is good for chronic gastric ulcer, duodenal ulcer, and gout.
【The dressing rooms】
The dressing rooms are not very big and there is no sink or hair dryer, but it is very clean.
【The women only indoor bath】
The bath looks like a medical spa, and accommodates 5 to 6 people.
The water looks milky green. It is hot and feels crisp.
The bath has shampoo and body soap.
The Konyoku indoor bath
You can get to the Konyoku bath through the backdoor in the women only bath.
【The Konyoku bath】
You will see something like this when you open the door!
There are two tubs in the Konyoku bath. The one in the front is “Kajiwara spring”. It is milky and it smells like a little bit of sulfur.
The one in the back is “Kobo spring”. The geyser sends the hot water trough the bamboo tube every 5 to 6 minutes.
The kobo spring has the same hot water as the women only bath, and milky green. The minerals in the water have accumulated on the tub and they look like stalactites.
It feels like a medical spa here, too!
The Konyoku bath had an unique atmosphere. I liked the classic look of the bath, but I felt like it was too challenging to go to the Konyoku bath. I almost turned around and wanted to go back to the women only bath.
Fortunately the ladies I met in the women only bath offered to go to the Konyoku bath with me, and I managed to go there with them.
After a while, I got used to the atmosphere and I realized the Konyoku bath had been like this for a long time and it felt sacred. It was such a nice experience.
Required level of nudity
The place is secluded, but gets very crowded especially on weekends. You are not allowed to use a bath towel in the Konyoku bath and the bath is not that big. It is very challenging for a women to try the Konyoku bath by herself.
Their Konyoku bath is very unique and the gentlemen I saw there all had good manners. Give it a try!
